Another year has passed and entries are now open for Global Battle of the Bands (GBOB) 2010. http://gbobchina.com/

Global Battle of the Bands is a worldwide competition where each band performs 2 original songs in 8 minutes or less. At the World Final, bands from different countries compete for the main prize of US$100,000 in band development (US$10,000 in cash, 10 date UK tour + 1 week recording in a UK studio)

Hong Kong Heats
This year we have seven heats to enter at 3 different venues (Backstage, Miusik & Makumba). One band per heat will go through to the Hong Kong final (which will be on 5th November 2010)

Prizes at the Hong Kong final as follows:

FIRST PLACE:
• One Gibson Les Paul Junior guitar
• HK$5000 Tom Lee coupons
• Representing Hong Kong in China Final of GBOB
• Chance to appear on The Underground Compilation CD4

SECOND PLACE:
• HK$2000 Tom Lee vouchers

THIRD PLACE:
• HK$1000 Tom Lee vouchers

ALL bands participating will receive Ernie Ball guitar strings, Ernie Ball bass strings and an Ernie Ball guitar strap.

At all heats, the audience vote counts for 50% and the judges vote counts for 50%. There will be a lucky draw at each event, where the audience will have the chance to win great prizes.

For the Hong Kong Final, only the judges vote will count.

The winning band from Hong Kong will meet up with the winners from Shanghai, Shenzhen, Beijing, Macau & Guangzhou for the China final.

China Final
The final will be held in Hong Kong on 20 November 2010, where the winning band will receive:
• an all expenses paid trip to World Final (including flights & accommodation)
• Guaranteed appearance at Zebra Music Festival - Cheng Du, May 2011. (including flights & accommodation)

Judges will comprise of established musicians, respected music journalists, music editors and people involved in the music industry.
