you should look at the members in GZ stuff is about 8600 or more
so u should invite more to HK stuff if u will have more chat activity

I feel Hong Kongers are only shy to put it out there. GZS is cool but for the most attitude and intelligence check out ShenZhenStuff over 10,000 members and growing everyday. So I think it has to do with numbers. Only 300+ members is hardly enough to keep a chat open.
i guess most of ppl here is into facebook more than hkstuff? like me in facebook mostly instead of here. i like to play mafia wars....etc....

The main possibility may be that Hong Kong people have a very different life style from us Mainland people. They have Facebook, YouTube, etc, which are still available in Hong Kong.
I also use facebook although mostly blocked these days but it is not the same as HKS or any of the stuff site they are for different propose.

Why not spread the word to your friends and family in Hong kong so the network would be larger
We're slowly reaching 12k users on SZstuff... Yes, seeing 60 people logged in in the middle of the night is nothing special. And yes, being that HKers can use facebook (for example), is definitely a factor.

But we had facebook here in SZ a year ago, and still chose SZstuff. It is way more fun, because of the people who gathered there.

Also, please note, that if not for SZstuff activities organized by its members, there would be virtually nothing to do, apart from drinking and partying all the time...
Facebook and Stuff are two quite different websites. I use Facebook for a completely different reason than I use ShenzhenStuff, for instance. Facebook is more international, it's about bringing the people (friends, acquiantances, family) together anywhere in the world. ShenzhenStuff is more localized, it's about local social networking.

My take on it is that there is waaaaaay more stuff to do in HK aside from online socializing, unlike Shenzhen, so people just don't bother to spend all this time online. Expats especially. I noticed this is a peculiarity about all Hong Kong expatriate sites (Asia Expat and GeoExpat are the same, for example). They don't need a website to get them together or to find stuff to do. It's just out there, go and do it, no need to procrastinate at the computer.
