I sometimes pop over the border right there sometimes. But just to buy things I can't get in SZ and head right back. It seems like mostly small shops and a large shopping mall. Is there fun to be had in Sheung Shui?
Sure. When in Fanling, check out Luen Wo Hui for many good places to eat. There's a Neway Karaoke in Fanling... but most importantly, there's an emerging English speaking community who meet regularly. There's quite a bit in the area. I have a local HK travel book produced by a local press, they give the area around 4 pages just for Fanling / Sheung Shui.

Thanks, Dean. I'll give it a closer look next time I'm in the neighborhood.
