Hong Kong Stuff

Below are a list of descriptions. Choose the one (or ones) closest to you and describe why it (they) best suit(s) you. If you feel none suit you then write your additional thoughts.

  1. You feel a strong and close identity with your original culture, you don't feel an interest in changing your original culture to fit in with a foreign crowd (if you're Chinese), or a local crowd (if you're a foreigner here). If people from the other side of the fence want to know you, they can be those adjusting to your culture.

  2. You're proud to be local, but have made made attempts to adjust to others cultures. You like to learn new things.

  3. You have experienced discrimination for either 'adjusting' or for 'not adjusting' to a new culture (from either those of your original culture, or those in the new culture).

  4. You think all people should be able to get along find and don't understand "3", you seem to communicate well with many different people and think those who can relate to the other categories are weird.

  5. You feel very little identity for your original culture, you wish to adjust as much as possible to your new identity (either where you moved to, or to the new crowd of people who you now spend time with who are not local).

  6. You can relate to some of these because of 'past experience'. However you feel you are more balanced now.

Enjoy!
